  leaving the wt - why?

  so for some people, there is the one breaking point that makes people leave.

  for me, not so much about doctrine, but about how people treated one another.

  i always heard that we show we are the true religion because we have love among ourselves.

  Elders wife says being upset with pedophiles in the hall being the same as having to eat sauerkraut and wieners.

  this couple in our hall an elder and his wife gave us a anniversary gift.

  it is a wall hanging that says "as for me and my household sister life is to short and hubby will worship jehovah forever.".

  i felt i should send her a thank you card even though i hate the gift.

  Anything that is bad, they will try to hide. Always have done it, always will. They don't want any bad press or negative things brought up in their little "paradise."

  I Went Back To the Kingdom Hall

  last year i went back to the hall while even though i was disfellowsipped 9 years ago and never intend to get reinstated.

  i went back to talk to all my friends and relatives and blantantly ignore the disfellowshipping policy.

  i chose to go to my jw parents hall where they are in "good standing" and regularly attend meetings as they ingnore their son.

  I like how you use their own rules to make them uncomfortable and uneasy. The only thing is that after you are gone, the elders will hound and harass and threaten all of your friends and family that talked to you. Hopefully many took notice that elders are just untrained men who can really have no power over you if you don't let them.

  i have just gotten out and am free at last!

  my brother did so a few years ago and has been such an amazing help to me these last few weeks.

  i was raised a jw, disfellowshipped when i was 17, married a non believer and then dragged back in by my family.

  as i sit here today wondering where my life shall end up, i'm letting some of my transgressions be made known.

  i never been the most outspoken person, more often than not i have been timid and shy.

  i have always felt uncomfortable when in large settings of people, especially large congregation gatherings and conventions.

  If you DA the elders will tell your mother not to let you live there and corrupt her and your sister. If you cannot afford to live on your own, I would wait. Consider all of your options before you do something that you can't undo.

  but at this point the dammange is done, and i am commited.

  what i do get is what level of lying and deceet is okay for a jw to use to get their way.

  If you have proof and a reporter interested in the story, I say jump in with both feet. They need to be exposed for the liars and frauds that they are.

  I always had a problem with my ex wife getting disability every month, yet regular pioneering and getting her time every month. If you can do field service for 90 hours, why can't you work for 90 hours? Never did get a good answer.
